If Boston was a person, SoWa would be its creative side. Bostonians have come together to create a corner of the city filled with the eclectic and the unexpected. In SoWa, one-of-a-kind restaurants, galleries, and small business are run by one-of-a-kind people. We both love spending our Sunday here exploring open art studios, sampling new snacks from food vendors, and perusing a unique vintage market.
We went to MFA for our first date, and have made it a point to periodically return ever since. Take some time to unwind browsing the museum's collection of art from all over the world that stretches back to the dawn of civilization and includes works from masters like Monet, Renoir, and Sargent.
This is our favorite spot in Boston, as well it should be, considering the hours we've spent here. Although not a museum, the Renaissance Revival Boston Public Library is crammed with spectacular painted murals, tapestries, architectural flairs, and sculptures. At the heart of Boston's Bay Bay, it's an easy walk from anywhere. if the weather is nice, don't forget to enjoy a drink and a pastry from the Newsfeed Cafe in their beautiful Mediterranean-style courtyard.
Drawing on the South’s trademark charm, the restaurant offers a vibrant, cozy atmosphere with an innovative American menu featuring twists on classic Southern comfort food. The chef channels his love of New Orleans to transport guests to the Bayou by way of Buttermilk & Bourbon. You can enjoy their signature pork belly cracklings; house-made biscuits; oyster chowder; crispy boudin; and house-fried chicken served Southern-style, along with a truly unique take on mac & cheese.
From the street the golden glow is inviting to even the weariest of traveler and the moment you walk in the door you will feel transported to a modern Parisian bistro. It’s a beautiful and silent piece of choreography. The spirits are vivacious and perfectly mixed. The wines are all handpicked from the expected French and California houses to smaller boutiques you’ll fall in love with. The dishes though traditional in nature are constantly being elevated to new levels using local farms contemporary techniques. This is one of our favorite brunch place, they have the BEST French Toast in town!
