Connor and Yue had their first date at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on June 21, 2017. After browsing the galleries together for a few hours, they shared a plate of sushi and learned that not only did they work in neighboring buildings, they lived just a stone's throw from each other. Another date followed, then another, and another, and soon enough they were stepping out together at least two or three times a week on ad hoc plans to try out some new restaurant or catch a movie. In Connor, Yue found someone who shared her love of food, culture, books, food, art, and food. In Yue, Connor found the perfect foil and companion with whom he could talk for hours on end, and could always surprise him with new and interesting points of view. After a year of trekking up and down Harvard Avenue to each others' apartments, they split the difference and moved in together right between the old places to start building a life together in earnest. But almost as soon as they dropped their bags in the new place, it was off to China for a two-week whirlwind tour for Connor to meet Yue's parents and extended family and make a good impression, language barrier notwithstanding. When they had lived together for a year, Connor finally asked if Yue was willing to make the worst decision of her life, in short, whether or not she would marry him. Yue agreed with practically no reservation, and now we're here.
