Flight
If you're traveling from Hartford: Jet Blue runs 2 direct flights to San Juan each day for around $300-$400 round trip. Frontier also flies direct from Hartford. Uber does pickups at the airport but taking a taxi may be faster. There is a taxi stand right outside of baggage claim at terminals A (Jetblue) and B.
Hotel
We have reserved a room block at Tryp by Wyndham Isla Verde from Saturday 4/1 to Wednesday 4/5. It will cost $189/night (+tax) and will require the cost of 1 night as a deposit. The booking window is from Sunday 12/18/22 - Monday 3/13/23. If you would like to arrive early or extend your stay - the discounted rate will be good for 2 nights before/after the reserved block. Parking is $8/day.
Shuttle

Hacienda Siesta Alegre is about 30 minutes from the Isla Verde/Airport area so we will be providing transportation to and from the wedding venue. The shuttle will be leaving from Tryp by Wyndham in Isla Verde (4820 Av. Isla Verde, Carolina, 00979) at 4PM SHARP. Please arrive between 3:30/3:45 PM so you don't miss it! The shuttle will drop you off in the same location around 11PM. This street is safe to walk on at night if you're staying nearby, or Uber is available in this area to get home from the hotel if you are staying out of close walking distance.
Travel Note
Uber is available in the San Juan metro area (where the airport & room block are located), but we recommend renting a car to see the island. The wedding venue is 30 minutes away from the hotel in the town of Río Grande - where Uber may be unreliable - so we will also be providing transportation to & from the wedding.

Most of our family & friends are staying in the Isla Verde/Carolina area because it is close to the airport, the beach and Old San Juan. We will be reserving a room block at the Tryp by Wyndham, but there are tons of other hotels nearby... and some great AirBnB & VRBO options. This is the more affordable area to stay in and Uber can be used to get around. The wedding venue (Hacienda Siesta Alegre) will be in the town of Rio Grande, which is about 30 minutes away from Isla Verde. This town is on the edge of the El Yunque National Forest (the only tropical rainforest in the United States). There are beautiful beaches, resorts, golf & more nearby. The hotels in this area are more expensive to stay in but there are some affordable rental options on AirBnB. Staying in this area will require a rental car to get around. *If you're planning on booking an AirBnB or VRBO (or any other vacation rental platforms) - be sure to pay close attention to the reviews, since there are an increased amount of scams these days.
