The wedding will be held at Hacienda Siesta Alegre in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. This is about 30 minutes away from the San Juan airport.
Most of our family & friends are staying in the Isla Verde/Carolina area because it is close to the airport, the beach and Old San Juan. We will be reserving a room block at the Tryp by Wyndham, but there are tons of other hotels nearby... and some great AirBnB & VRBO options. This is the more affordable area to stay in and Uber can be used to get around. The wedding venue (Hacienda Siesta Alegre) will be in the town of Rio Grande, which is about 30 minutes away from Isla Verde. This town is on the edge of the El Yunque National Forest (the only tropical rainforest in the United States). There are beautiful beaches, resorts, golf & more nearby. The hotels in this area are more expensive to stay in but there are some affordable rental options on AirBnB. Staying in this area will require a rental car to get around. *If you're planning on booking an AirBnB or VRBO (or any other vacation rental platforms) - be sure to pay close attention to the reviews, since there are an increased amount of scams these days. NEVER send payment outside of the booking platform*
The room block will be at Tryp by Wyndham in Isla Verde. This hotel is across the street from the beach and it will cost $189/night (+tax) - booking info can be found on the "travel" page.
We recommend that you rent a car if you're staying for a few days. Uber is available in the San Juan metro area (this includes Isla Verde where the hotel is located), but it is unreliable on other parts of the island. We will be providing transportation from to and from the wedding. This shuttle will pick up and drop off from the Tryp by Wyndham in Isla Verde.
Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, so no passport is required for entry into Puerto Rico.
