Shelly and Dawson met at the West Tennessee Research and Education Center in Jackson, TN when they started their Masters degrees in the Summer of 2018. In the Fall of 2018, the two friends both moved to Knoxville, TN to begin grad school classes. Seeing as they knew no one else in the city, the two began to hang out frequently, and even called each other several times a day just to talk. Although the flirtation was there, the two did not officially start dating until February of 2019 after Dawson kissed Shelly at the end of a fun day spent with friends. The two now reside in Knoxville, TN where they are both pursuing PhDs.
