Ferry to Peaks Island

Please note that Peaks Island is only accessible by ferry or a private water taxi. Ferries run regularly, but please be sure to allow enough time for your travels. There is a parking garage right at the ferry terminal. Click the button below to go to Cascobaylines.com for scheduling.

Holiday Inn Portland-by the Bay

We've reserved a block of rooms, at a discounted rate, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland for the night of the wedding, June 27th, 2021. This hotel is less than a mile from the Casco Bay Lines Ferry Terminal in Portland's Old Port. Please mention the Shelley / Meagher Wedding when making your reservations to take advantage of the rate.

Airbnb

There are lots of great AirBnb rentals to stay at in Portland, or on Peaks Island. If you go this route, please be sure to book early, as they are popular throughout the summer and into late August. There isn't much to do on Peaks Island in the after-hours. If you want to be in the midst of the action, we recommend staying in Portland as the Old Port is a fun destination!

Flight

Portland International Jetport

PWM (Portland International Jetport) would be the best option to fly into and usually has pretty decent fares. It's about a 15 minute drive into the Old Port in Portland from PWM. If your flight schedule brings you to Boston Logan (BOS) or to Bangor International Airport (BGR), those are each about 2 hours away from Portland.

Travel Note

On Peaks Island

You should not need car transportation on Peaks Island itself, so it would be best to leave the cars in Portland. The Inn on Peaks Island is directly up the street & within walking distance of the ferry terminal. However, if you get out there early, you can enjoy the island by renting bicycles or golf carts. If you do choose to bring a car, parking may be limited but you are allowed to park on most streets for up to 24 hours.
