We're getting married!

The way Ryan and Kim first met is much the same way they continue to live their lives: eating meatball subs in a hockey arena. Well, it was only Ryan who was actually crushing a meatball sub mere minutes before a hockey game. Intrigued by this display of blatant disregard for pre-game meal digestion times, Kim sent him a friend request on Facebook... and waited. After 6 (count them-six!) days, Ryan finally accepted. Since they were playing on the same hockey team, Ryan began hinting that he usually goes out to grab a bite to eat after the Sunday night games. Kim took the hint and invited herself out. She showed up in sweatpants, beat him in trivia, and the rest was history.

We were on a family vacation to one of our favorite destinations, Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. A few of us mentioned that we would want to try to climb to the top of the tallest hill on the island before our vacation was over, so we decided on hiking early Thursday morning. The alarm went off at 7 am sharp, we rolled out of bed and went outside. Kim immediately announced to Ryan that she did not want to go hiking, as it was wayyyy too hot outside already. When we joined everyone in the kitchen, both Andy (Kim's brother) and Neil (Ryan's brother) were all ready to go, so the show must go on. We all trudged up the hill for an hour or two in 80+ degree/80+% humidity. By the time we got to "the spot" we were all out of breath and sweaty. When Neil started shooting photos, Ryan got down on one knee and popped the question. On the way back to the house, we stopped at the small shop and bought everyone warm champagne to celebrate!
