Side Track Coffee
This is my favorite spot in town. The owner grew up down the street from me and has cultivated an environment where it's normal to read your bible and talk to strangers. This is hands down the best coffee in downtown. Heads up, Side Track doesn't price their drinks, you simply pay what you feel it's worth. So, once you pay, don't be shocked when they ask YOU how much.
The Breezeway Chicken Fingers
No restaurant gives me more nostalgia than this one. Growing up we would hang out here every Wednesday night before walking to youth group at Church a block away. It is casual, quick, and affordable. My favorite thing to order is the snack with grilled chicken fingers
Stinson Breads Bakery
This newer bakery stole my heart since it opened. The sourdough is absolutely delicious, but you also can't go wrong with a pastry and coffee. Highly recommended to get lunch here if you love a fresh, deli-style sandwich and sitting outside.
THE HOUND Restaurant and Pub
My favorite restaurant in Auburn. They specialize in southern cuisine, and have to-die-for brussels sprouts. The dishes are comfort food but with an elegant touch. If you are looking for a nice dining experience of southern food done well- this is your place!
Whistle Stop Bottle and Brew
If you walk around downtown Opelika you will find lots of good places to grab a drink, but this one is my favorite. They offer at least 20 craft beers on tap, plus kambucha and wine. This cozy spot has an assortment of board games you can play, couches to snuggle into and seats outside with a great view of downtown Opelika
Viva La Vida Mexican Cuisine Opelika
This charming Mexican restaurant is always a must when I go home. You can't beat their lunch specials. I recommend the fajitas and queso dip on the side. Ask for Norma as your waitress, she will take care of you!
