Our story began in 2018 at a backyard birthday party, one of those nights that doesn’t feel like a beginning at the time. We met briefly, but the timing wasn’t quite right. A couple of months later, life brought us together again, and this time, something quietly shifted. From then on, we started talking and simply never stopped. What began as easy conversation quickly became something constant and comforting. A few months later, Nicholas took McKenna to a concert in Seattle for a band we had been introduced to early in our relationship. That night, filled with music, laughter, and the feeling that everything just fit, Nicholas asked McKenna to be his girlfriend. It remains one of the most special nights of our lives. Not long after, we took our first trip together to Harrison Hot Springs. We fell in love with the quirky town and its natural beauty, and Harrison quickly became our place, a spot we would return to again and again, each visit adding another layer to our story. Nicholas had always known he wanted to propose at our favourite beach on Harrison Lake. When McKenna suggested a day trip to see the Christmas lights, he knew the moment had arrived. On November 23, 2024, during a quiet, chilly afternoon with the lake stretching out before us and no one else around, Nicholas got down on one knee and asked McKenna to marry him. Surprised and overwhelmed with love, she said yes without hesitation. Over the years, we’ve grown side by side, sharing countless adventures and memories along the way. We’ve travelled the world together, discovering new places, getting lost, laughing through it all, and learning more about each other with every journey. Our relationship is built on trust, laughter, and the freedom to be completely ourselves. We are truly best friends, always ready for the next adventure and excited for all the travels still to come. Now, as we prepare to be married at Whonnock Lake, a place rich with family history and meaning for us both, we are so excited to begin this next chapter together. Even more than that, we feel incredibly grateful to be surrounded by the people who have loved, supported, and shaped us along the way.
