FAQs

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by November 1st through the "RSVP" tab on our wedding website. Simply enter your name, select your meal preference, and confirm your attendance. If you have any trouble locating your invitation, feel free to contact Shelby or Alex directly.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want our guests to look their best and ask them to dress formal/semi-formal. We ask that men wear a suit and women wear an evening gown or a midi- or knee-length cocktail dress would be appropriate. Colors: any darker/wintery shades would be perfect!

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 3:00 PM. Please arrive, in true Shelby fashion, around 15-20 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and find your seat.

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear on your invitation and under your name when you RSVP on our website. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with family and close friends. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, unless your children are listed on your invitation when you RSVP, this is an adult only event. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We are planning on staying at the Holiday Inn in Chanhassen. While we haven't secured a room block, current rates are quite reasonable. We suggest booking your accommodations early to ensure availability and the best pricing.

Question

Why in the world are you getting married in winter?

Answer

Great question! For starters, we love winter, it’s our favorite season! But… I (Shelby) love Christmas and have always wanted a Christmas wedding. I want the ceremony to be a celebration not only of the love that Alex and I  have for each other, but to also take a moment to thank God for the greatest gift! What a better way to rejoice for the birth of Christ and the Christmas season than with spending it with all the people we love!

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Beer and wine will be on the house until the dancing shoes go on! Mixed drinks will be available for purchase all night. Nonalcoholic drinks will also be provided all night.
