Shelby was back in town for the holidays which also meant that wherever Braelyn, Shelby's friend, went, Shelby was destined to follow. Braelyn and Shelby were off to attend a Secret Santa party on New Year's Eve with a group of Braelyn's coworkers.. One of which happened to be Oscar. Besides the few stories that Braelyn shared with Oscar and Shelby about one another, they were complete strangers. However, that didn't last long. Everyone started playing games and talking about the latest My Favorite Muffin Drama. One of the games they played that day was the infamous saran wrap ball game. Everyone was in a circle trying to win the most treasure before it was the next persons' turn. One of the treasures within the saran wrap ball was a party horn. Oscar and Shelby happened to win most of them and began to blow them in hopes of good luck. Their shared sense of humor and competitiveness was obvious and you could feel their energy warm up the room. Shortly after this though, the Secret Santa party was wrapping up, and Oscar and Shelby were on their separate ways to enjoy bringing in the New Year.. or so they thought! Oscar was off to meet up with his group of close friends, now groomsman, and Shelby was off to another holiday party with Braelyn. While Braelyn and Shelby were getting ready for the New Year's Eve party, Oscar texted Braelyn asking about Shelby to see if she had any insight on how Shelby felt about him. Shelby told Braelyn to respond however she wanted because in a few days she would be back in Golden not really worried about Braelyn's coworker. Fast forward to later in the evening, Oscar was at a bar but had eventually decided to leave right before the clock struck midnight. He ended up at the same holiday party as his coworker's and of course, Shelby. Although he arrived a few minutes late to bringing in the New Year with everyone, they shared the same fun-filled feelings and energy throughout the night. After that night they went on dates whenever they could to see if they could make the distance work. Eventually, they started dating and have been happily together since!
