Estes Park is just 4 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park. It has stunning views, wildlife, shops, restaurants, and outdoor adventures. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Please note that Estes Park sits at an elevation of 7,522 feet, so make sure to stay hydrated and take it easy as you adjust to the altitude.

Rocky Mountain National Park

A timed entry reservation is required to visit all areas of the park from 9am to 2pm daily. Reservations for June 2027 open on May 1st, 2027 at 8am MT and are available online only through the website linked below. Time slots are limited and sell out quickly. We recommend reserving the “Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road” option for access to additional areas of the park. Bear Lake Road reservations are required from 5am to 6pm daily. Our favorite spots: - Cub Lake Trailhead - Rainbow Curve - Bear Lake (Bear Lake Road reservation required) - Sprague Lake (Bear Lake Road reservation required)

Aerial Tramway

Ride up to the summit of Prospect Mountain (8,708 feet) for amazing views of Estes Park and the Rockies. Reservations are required and can be made through the website linked below.

The hotel that inspired Stephen King’s movie, The Shining! You can explore on your own or book a tour.

Riverwalk

A scenic one mile path through downtown along the Big Thompson and Fall Rivers. There are many shops and restaurants along the way. Keep your eye out for deer and elk!
