What is the best way to get to Kiawah Island?

Answer

We recommend flying into Charleston airport and either renting a car or ubering from the airport.

How will I get to the wedding events?

Answer

We will have shuttles taking guests to the welcome party (and home) as well as the wedding (and home). There will be three shuttle pickup/dropoff locations: The Sandcastle, corner of Amaranth and Greenwinged Teal, and The Sanctuary. We have asked guests to stay within walking distance of one of these three locations. Shuttle pickups are on the Schedule and Shuttles Tab. We will not have shuttles for the tennis tournament, so please plan ahead to either bike or drive there if attending.

What do I do at the Kiawah gate?

Answer

All guests entering Kiawah Island are required to show a car pass at the entrance. Your villa or hotel will provide you with one. Please keep this on your car as you will need to show it every time you enter or exit the island.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

While renting a car is not required, we do recommend having one car per household as Ubers/Lyfts from Kiawah are rarely available. We will have shuttles to take guests to the Welcome Party and the Wedding, but you will need your own transportation otherwise.

Should I rent bikes? If so, from where?

Answer

Bikes are a great way to get around the island during the day! Kiawah Island is a nature preserve and therefore no streetlights at night, so we do not recommend biking after dark. We recommend Kiawah Island Bike rental or Alligator Bikes if you are interested in renting.
