Lake Tahoe
We try to visit at least twice a year! Tahoe is less than two hours away from Fernley. There are multiple scenic hikes to take in the view and various areas to simply enjoy the beach up close, depending which state side you prefer. The Nevada side also has casinos and shopping for the real tourist experience.
Virginia City
I especially love VC as someone who enjoys westerns, and the fudge store is a must for a day's visit. It's less than an hour drive from Fernley. This historic place is filled with gift shops, plenty of saloons, and Wild West reenactments. It's easy to have fun in this charming old mining town!
Mary & Moe's WigWam
This joint is a classic in Fernley and was one of my grandpa's go-to spots for morning coffee. It's a family favorite, especially for breakfast and lunch! (Please call ahead to confirm their current business hours).
The Nest
This adorable shop has the cutest gifts and home decor options, and we love their Olivelle products to cook with at home. A Fernley fun fact is that this place is owned by my relatives.
