Ashley and I became nearly instant friends during welcome week at UW Milwaukee during freshman year when we lived just two doors apart. Though we've never lived as close since those Sandy days, our friendship has only grown stronger. Ashley is the brilliant, brave, and dedicated friend anyone would be lucky to have.

Jess and I have been friends since our childhood days. Our relationship is the true definition of friendship that spans time, distance, and space no matter what. The ways we can always pick back up like no time has passed has made my life richer in ways that I'll never be able to explain.

My friendship with Heidi has always been filled with adventures, laughs, and nothing but fun. Not only has Heidi given me some of the most fun days of my life - Heidi and her husband, Boots, gave me Kyle, too! "The Cool Kids" regularly makes it out of the group chat - sporting fun hats, matching outfits, and dazzling personalities. The four of us couldn't have a bad day together if we tried.

Erica is the best thing I got out of my University of Michigan experience. Our lunch table friendship moved to mostly long distance, but that left room for weekly phone calls and some of the best laughs. I had the privilege to stand up in Erica's wedding in fall of 2023 and couldn't be more excited to have Erica share this special day with me, too!

Abby is a coworker turned friend. When I first moved home and started at Hawks Mill, we instantly hit it off. Our shifts together turned into hanging out outside of work and one of Shelbey's favorite traditions - double dates! Kyle and I are so lucky to have the Powers as some of our best friends.

Best Man

Having your brother as Best Man is a natural fit. It’s much more than that though. Ryan has been there for me through literally every chapter of life. I can’t imagine anyone else filling this role. Just watch out for him at the bar though.. Unlike myself, he’s a bit of a pusher.

Brendan Strycharske

Brendan and I met during my freshman year in college. Although he may be off putting to most, I found the courage to take him under my wing and mentor him towards a better version of himself. None of that is true, but what I can say is that Brendan is one of the most loyal and reliable friends anyone could hope for.

Ben Rodgers

Ben and I met not by chance, but by fate via Craiglist in 2013. I was looking for someplace to live in the Madison area and Ben was looking for a roommate that met the strict requirements of a being a living human who could consistently pay rent. We quickly hit it off through a shared passion of motorcycles, design, innovation, and beer. Fast forward to today and you'll still find Ben boisterously telling jokes to Kyle in the corner of some bar.

Justin "Boots" Weber

Justin ("Boots") and his wife Heidi may be the reason Shelbey and I met, but this certainly isn't an honorary spot. Boots and I have known each other for almost two decades and our friendship has gotten increasingly close the past few years. Boots is one of the most fun and level headed people you'll ever meet and we have shared more than a handful of fun experiences together.

Ben Kopp

Ben is one of my oldest friendships, having met before elementary school. We initially bonded over Lego's and Star Wars, two interests we thankfully never outgrew. Our relationship has both endured and thrived through many chapters of life, including that time Ben blew up his parents toilet with explosives. So be sure to ask him about that one.

Kelly may be the freshest face to this group, but you know family when you see them. There have been many nights spent around the fire, days spent on the lake, and more than our fair share of time spent watching football at the bar. Who knew football games went to bar close? Couldn’t imagine Kelly not standing up on this day.
