Our wedding will be a small, intimate affair and we are limited by our permit in the number of guests we can accommodate. All invited guests will be named on the invitation to attend. We appreciate your understanding.
We have chosen to make our special day an adult-only affair (teens and older). We hope this advanced notice will allow you to make prior arrangements and still join us in celebration.
Our wedding will be in an outdoor, park setting in the summer. We want our guests to wear what is comfortable for them. While we will be dressed in our wedding best, we hope you will forego the suit and tie and high heels if you so wish. Casual wedding or dressy casual attire would be appropriate.
We would love any and all help with: Set up/decorating 7-9am Lunch: Caterers will be dropping the food off, help is needed laying it out Clean up Shoot us a message if you would like to help.
Kenwood Plaza is in the center of four roads: Warm Springs, Park Row, Channing Row and Griswold Avenue. There are several parking spaces immediately adjacent to the ceremony (gazebo) area on Warm Springs Rd. Additional parking can be found on the streets surrounding the park. Please do not block the driveways of any of the surrounding residents' homes.
This wedding is occurring at a Sonoma County Regional Park (also known as Sheila's employer) please follow Leave No Trace protocols which means NO throwing of any of the above items. Please help us keep a low impact by throwing away all garbage in designated areas or packing items back home with you. You are welcome to ring one of the bells provided, or bring your own to ring.
Champagne will be provided for the toast. A limited amount of wine and beer will be on hand in addition to water, sodas and sparkling cider. There are numerous wineries in the area if you would like to experience the local viticulture after the celebration.
The park and seating area is ADA accessible. Paved paths can be walked to the ceremony and reception areas. There may be a short section of non-paved, flat ground with dirt, duff and small twigs where the reception tables are located.
Yes, a professional photographer will be present on the big day for a very limited amount of time. We ask for your help in ensuring she is able to take unimpeded images of us during the ceremony and during the first part of lunch (i.e. please don't jump in front of her to snap a photo). We are providing a targeted list of the images we would like to capture in the 2 hours and will not be able to add additional shots unless time allows at the end. We will not have a photographer during lunch or for the cake cutting and would appreciate your help in capturing these moments.
We would greatly appreciate if you allow us to share photos first, before posting yours. There may be a wait time before we get ours back. In the meantime, please do share your favorite shots with us! Email: scott.mcgaughey77@gmail.com and sheilanmurphy@yahoo.com
We are fortunate to have much of what we need to start a life together. Your presence means more than any gift, but if you wish to contribute, we would be grateful for a contribution towards our honeymoon fund to Switzerland and Italy. This trip will be scheduled a year or two down the road. This fund, along with a few other items that would enrich our married life together, can be found under "The Registry" on our website. Please know your gift, and even more so, your presence, is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
