Scott and Sheila’s love story began in 2023. First, Sheila spotted Scott at a group run with Fleet Feet Santa Rosa in February. She thought he was there with someone (it was actually his friend Joy) but that it would be nice to meet a guy like him so she decided to keep going to group runs. Shortly after, she met Joy (the friend) who invited her to join the Snails on Trails running group. When her name was added to the group Scott (an admin for the group) saw her profile and thought “She’s the one”. Right around that time, Sheila saw Scott’s profile on Tinder and decided to swipe right. They were soon chatting and met officially for the first time at a Snails on Trails hike at Crane Creek Regional Park. Nova came along and was a part of things from the very first day. Sheila wanted to take things slow, so they got to know each other during their first solo date at Haku Sushi in May followed by a surprise date planned by Scott playing miniature golf. More dates followed including to the Calistoga 4th of July parade, to watch the fireworks and to the Monte Rio Variety Show. Scott’s easy-going nature and kindness drew Sheila in while Sheila’s smile and humor captivated Scott. Sheila knew Scott was the one when he brought flowers to dinner after she had a particularly rough day. Soon after, Scott hosted Sheila for a delicious gluten free dinner after which Sheila made the first move by planting a kiss at her departure. Through their time together, they discovered they had much in common including: their love of running, field work, adventure, quiet evenings in, appreciation of other cultures and nature. Not to mention a running theme of dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. While they initially took things slow, they then sped things up by moving in together after just 6 months of dating. The transition was seamless, and they were both amazed at how incredibly compatible they were. They became a blended family with puppy dog Nova and enjoyed their first holidays together. Many adventures were had: days at the beach to let Nova play, Cloud’s Rest in Yosemite, Kauai, Big Island, Massachusetts and the snow in Arnold. Train rides, helicopter rides, snorkeling, new restaurants, the symphony, whale watching, waterfall hikes, ultramarathons and concerts. Anniversaries spent at their restaurant: Glen Ellen Star. On June 22, 2025, Scott proposed at sunset at Campground Beach on Cape Cod while on vacation. That night they celebrated with Scott’s mom and Sheila saw her first east coast firefly. Scott and Sheila look forward to sharing the start of their next chapter with friends and family at Kenwood Plaza.
