Maid of Honor
Ask Sheila about any of her favorite childhood memories, and you can guarantee Megan is somehow involved. Their epic friendship started in diapers, sharing baby fashion secrets. They did everything together. Having grown up only minutes apart, they swam for the same swim team and attended all the same schools. Sheila could give Megan so many labels: classmate, teammate, cousin, best friend. While all of these apply, sister is the one that best describes their relationship. They have had countless adventures these past 25 years, and Sheila predicts that this wedding will be their newest treasured memory together.
Best Man
John and Michael have been homies since 2007, when they originally met each other. They would often joke around together during lunch, but due to Michael being older, rarely had classes together. The friendship strengthened as both attended Oregon State University. During John’s first two years there, he would often come over to Michael’s house to hang out and catch up with each other. Although John and Michael live varied lives, they have come to appreciate the differences in each other, and always look forward to the times where they can hang out and reconnect. They both know that no matter where life takes them, their friendship will always remain intact, and John could not be any more excited to see what the future has for both Michael and Shelia.
Bridesmaid
Kathleen has been Sheila’s sister and psychic twin from the day she was born. Being Megan's little sister, she completes and complements their marvelous trio. Although Sheila is two years older, Kathleen has always been her wise and empathetic confidant. Kathleen's old soul has never failed to provide support and validate her experiences. Their childhood was one of magic, and their teenage years full of angst and incredible strength. Sheila knows that wherever life takes her, she can always count on Kathleen to provide the unwavering support she has shown Sheila her entire life.
Groomsman
John has had the privilege to know Michael since 1st grade, where they bonded over Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and, most importantly, a genuine love for childish antics. They spent their recesses simply trying to discover the most fun activities possible, which usually just ended with them going down the playground slide backwards. One of the great joys of John’s life has been the steadfastness of Michael’s friendship as they transitioned into young adulthood. Michael has always managed to spark that same sense of childish fun whenever they spend time together. Whether it’s adventures on the playground, building snow forts, or just spending a Friday night eating pizza, Michael has always reminded John of the importance of enjoying themselves and one another.
Bridesmaid
When Sheila transferred to Oregon State, she and Kathleen were placed on the same dorm floor. They have been friends from the moment Kat introduced herself and Sheila scowled back at her. (Sheila calls her Kat, because her cousin is also Kathleen, and is the only one who’s allowed to use that nickname.) Junior year they lived together and Sheila will forever miss all of the readily available baked goods on the counter – although not the extra calories. They have frolicked through Scottish highlands and Irish fields together, had a picnic of cheese and wine in front of the Eiffel Tower, and now she is here to embark on this latest adventure with Sheila.
Groomsman
From the moment he met Michael, Nolan could tell they’d be fast friends. Their friendship started with an introduction from a mutual friend to help with Michael’s coding assignment. Although not much coding developed that day, a strong bond certainly did. They are two goofs of a feather, always feeding off of each other, whenever & wherever.
Bridesmaid
On the first day of professional school at Oregon State, Sheila walked into class and knew absolutely no one. She saw one girl sitting near the front of the classroom, so she made a beeline to the desk next to her. Sheila is so thankful she sat next to her that day. Their love of coffee, games and awkward humor made friendship inevitable. Some of Sheila’s favorite college memories involve their study sessions in the library and playing cribbage at all the local coffee shops. Annalise came into Sheila’s life at a time where Sheila was really struggling, but Annalise has always been supportive and encouraging. Annalise’s strength and determination are infectious. This gem of a person has brought so much joy to Sheila’s life, and she is so excited to celebrate her wedding with Annalise.
Groomsman
Michael and Alexander technically met before, during, and after bits of time at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church. Though they knew each other, it wasn’t apparent they would become friends. Years later, that would change with Michael becoming one of Alexander’s oldest and fondest friends. Michael was always assured of himself, stable in who he was, and methodical about moving forward in his life. Michael is goofy and ridiculous, as well as direct and professional. He has always been willing to go with the flow and follow the fun, leading to many memorable adventures with Alexander. They grew up playing together, whether it be Magic, video games, or swimming. Alexander expects they will continue doing so, long into the future. He’s proud and honored to call Michael his friend.
Usher
Charlie and Michael met through a mutual friend (John Lampus), when they were both in high school. Since then, their friendship has grown over the years, both in terms of proximity and their similar interests and views. Charlie was able to spend a lot more time with Michael as well as getting to know Sheila and become close friends with her as well. He became quite the regular face at Michael and Sheila's place on the weekends once he moved back to Lake Oswego in 2016. They all enjoy bonding over games, movies, and even the occasional outdoor adventure. Charlie is especially honored to serve as the usher for Michael and Sheila's wedding and is excited to see what is in store for both of them, while continuing to support both of them in any way he can.
