We would love for everyone to be in the moment with us, not snapping photos during the ceremony. We have a great photographer handling that. Por favor, hold off on mobile photography until the reception!
We adore your children but have limited space (and intend to party). Please make it a date vacay!
For entry into Greece, your US passport should have at least six months of remaining validity. Will this be the first stamp in your passport? No worries! Apply for a passport sooner rather than later, as passport wait times are currently around 6 weeks. Tourist Visas are not required for stays less than 90 days. More information on how to apply for a passport at the link below. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/how-to-apply.html
We will be providing our guests with car service to/from Athens airport. If you choose to join us on excursions following our nuptials, we will also be providing transportation for that. When considering car rentals, please make sure they have plenty of clearance from the ground as the last 2 kilometers to the estate is a dirt track with plenty of pot holes (4X4 not essential, but a high SUV is a good option). Please ensure that it is manual rather than automatic and petrol rather than diesel – you will need lots of engine power to get up the last hill. You can rent cars from Athens airport – all major companies have a presence there.
If you are planning on renting a car, we highly suggest that you go through the short application process to save you a lot of hassle if things go wrong. Currently, only the American Automobile Association (AAA) is empowered to issue the permits for a $20 and short application process. To apply: 1. Visit https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html 2. You can obtain your IDP in person at your local AAA branch or by mail. 3. If by mail, mail in your completed application form, 2 original passport photos each signed on the back, a photo copy of both sides of your driver's license, and the $20 permit fee.
Please choose the appropriate dates and times you are traveling: https://www.vrisko.gr/en/ferry-routes-greece/evia-agia-marina/evia-nea-styra/
Greece's monetary unit is the Euro. No other currency is accepted and it is best to exchange dollars or other currency at a bank. The exchange rates are all the same throughout the country and you exchange money at a bank or official exchange shop where you will get the best running rates. Greece is a cash country and we will be in a remote area so make sure to get local currency when you arrive at the airport, instead of relying on credit cards. It may be difficult to find ATMs or banks once we depart Athens.
