Bethesda Central Farm Market
Although Carrie doesn't live within walking distance anymore we still head over here pretty often for breakfast and some choice vegetables on Sunday mornings. If you want an even bigger and more city-forward farmer's market, DuPont Circle also has a farmers market on Sunday mornings!
San Pancho
This place has DELICIOUS breakfast burritos and a fun vibe. We recommend grabbing a bite here and then taking a walk around the Takoma Park Neighborhood (which is pretty cute!). The House of Musical Traditions, People's Book, and Takoma Beverage Company are all notable places nearby.
Parkway Deli & Restaurant
You want breakfast? Lunch? A pickle bar?? Parkway Deli is a great spot with a lovely outdoor patio in the back!
Café Sophie
Cafe Sophie has a great selection of brunch options with some European flair, but by far the most fun part of Cafe Sophie is getting to sit outside on the patio and watch small planes take off and land.
Smithsonian National Zoological Park
If you haven't seen the Zoo it's a lovely place to walk around. Be sure to reserve a (free) ticket in advance!
National Museum of Asian Art
Carrie and Matt went here on their first(?) date(?). Centrally located on the National Mall!
National Portrait Gallery
Matt's favorite museum, criminally underrated. Don't miss the modern art on the third floor!
Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
Carrie's favorite museum! Check out the rocks and the big ol' bones!
Brookside Gardens
Local botanical garden that's beautiful for a walk all year round! Entry and parking are free and the weather has been so beautiful lately that we strongly recommend checking this place out. It's one of our favorites! (so much so that we did our engagement photo shoot here)
M & N's Pizza
This place's Chicken Curry Pizza is the one food item we missed most dearly during our 5-year stint in Minneapolis. If you have a chance to pick some up Friday night you won't be disappointed.
