Denver International Airport

Flying in and out of Denver International Airport (DEN) is the best option to get to the Tabernash/Winter Park area. Devil's Thumb is located 65 miles west of Denver and 10 miles from Winter Park. It is about a 2 hour drive (100 miles) from Denver International Airport to Devil's Thumb.

Looking to rent a car and make the drive from Denver to Winter Park? You'll drive over Berthoud Pass at an elevation of 11,306 feet with beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. As noted above, it's about a 2 hour drive from Denver International Airport to Devil's Thumb Ranch without traffic. However, the drive can often be much longer on a Friday afternoon with ski traffic or with inclement weather. We recommend renting a car with 4-wheel drive and snow tires in case of winter weather, and arriving on Thursday or Friday morning to beat the traffic, if possible!
