Little did we know that meeting on a Thursday night for a socially-distant dinner and a dog walk would be the start of our love story. From day one we couldn't believe all of the things we had in common...our family ties to the Midwest and a shared love for the Green Bay Packers, it was clear that we had finally found our perfect match. It wasn't long before Sunday dinners were spent at the Fitzgerald's and new friendships started to feel like family. While the world was navigating through a pandemic, we began making memories of our own: spending evenings cooking and dancing at home, playing with Lambeau, wine tasting in Temecula and driving through Utah and Colorado. We were also able to escape to Maui and spend Thanksgiving in Wisconsin.
During our third date, we were out to dinner and found ourselves in conversation with the table next to us. I thought it was important for me to let these strangers know that I was going to marry Shea. Shea laughed and thought I was crazy. As the days went on, we shared many moments where I could tell she knew it was true. I knew things were moving in the right direction when Shea made me promise to wait until 2020 was over before popping the question. When I planned a surprise trip to Catalina for New Years, she knew I was up to something. The plan was to wait until midnight on New Years Eve, but we had such a great first day that I had to ask her the night before. Truly a weekend we will never forget. -Michael As we approach our special day, we cannot wait to bring our family and friends together as we start the rest of our lives in love. See you in Costa Rica!
