Their journey began on Bumble around Christmas Eve of 2020. From the very first conversation, it was clear that Shayne and Brittany shared a lot of common interests—video games, board games, sports, and our love of food became go-to topics, and their chemistry was undeniable. Right from the initial meeting in December of 2020, everything felt so natural, as if they had known each other for much longer. Shayne and Brittany eventually became official on January 2nd, 2021, when Shayne finally had the courage to kiss Brittany on their third date. At that time, life was throwing both of them some curveballs. Brittany was navigating the heart-wrenching reality of her father's recent diagnosis of Stage 2B Pancreatic Cancer. Meanwhile, Shayne was grappling with the loss of his mother that occurred only a year prior to Throat Cancer. Despite those challenges, they discovered a deep connection in their shared experiences with the disease. What started as a period of sorrow transformed into something beautiful—a nurturing and loving relationship that has continued to flourish. They were able to have fun and laugh together, push each other outside of their comfort zones, and help one another discover the true meaning of a great relationship. Four years later, Shayne and Brittany have become best friends united by shared goals and dreams for their future, and it all begins on this beautiful wedding day. They look forward to sharing this special day with you!
On a well-deserved getaway to the Smoky Mountains, Brittany and Shayne dedicated their first day in Tennessee to exploring Pigeon Forge. Shayne had originally intended to pop the question to Brittany that morning on the cabin deck, which offered stunning views of the mountains. However, unaware of Shayne's intentions, Brittany was excited to dive into their vacation plans and was eager to kick off the day with brunch at the Apple Barn. This forced Shayne to come up with a Plan B during the day. Throughout the day, Brittany and Shayne engaged in playful banter about proposals. Brittany teasingly asked Shayne how he would feel if she were to propose to him. Shayne chuckled, responding, "Where's my ring?" To which Brittany replied, "I'm just kidding! I don't have a ring." "What if I happened to have one on me right now?" Shayne countered with a grin. "Oh stop... now you're just being mean," Brittany said. At that moment, Shayne was excited to propose and found himself drawn to a large Ferris wheel situated at The Island of Pigeon Forge. “Hey Brit, have you ever ridden one of those giant Ferris wheels before?” Shayne inquired. “No, I haven’t. I’ve never actually been on a Ferris wheel,” she replied. This was the moment his plan B popped into his head. They made their way to The Island of Pigeon Forge, and Shayne purchased two tickets for a ride on the Ferris wheel. They headed to The Island of Pigeon Forge, where Shayne bought two tickets for the Ferris wheel. At the very top, he handed Brittany a heartfelt proposal note before getting down on one knee.
