Gus and Shay met in December of 2014 as fellow employees of Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, FL. On the night they were introduced, Gus watched from across the room as Shay (who hadn't had time to eat that day due to planning a big Club holiday party) devoured an entire block of cranberry cheese and washed it down with several wedges of cheddar. He was immediately impressed (who wouldn't be?), but they decided to remain friends and co-workers for more than a year before finally agreeing to give in to everyone's suggestion to "stop flirting with each other and just get together already." On Sunday, March 20, 2016, Gus and Shay had their first date on the rooftop of Burrito Gallery in Avondale. They shared a platter of nachos and when Gus selflessly gave Shay all of the best chips, their love story officially began. The wonderful years that followed have been full of Slurpee runs (proving Gus's love for Shay), discussions about golf (proving Shay's love for Gus), and full-time parenting to their two beloved feline children, Chip and Queso. On their wedding day - Sunday, March 20, 2022 - Gus and Shay will have been together for exactly six years. A celebratory day, indeed! They cannot wait to mark the occasion with all of their favorite people alongside them.
