We have been going to Indian head since we met in 2018. We usually go in the fall, but I (Shay) delayed the trip this year (not knowing that I was delaying my own engagement). This time we went in January, which we have only done one other time! Every year, we always visit Echo lake. I couldn’t remember the name of the lake,  so I asked Joe to take me on the Kangamangus, not knowing that the lake was not on this highway. Leah, one of my MOH, was anxiously waiting in the back seat as we drove all around, wondering where in the world Joe was going to pop the question on this long drawn out highway. We finally made it back to my favorite lake, but I was refusing to walk down to it because I was in my slippers! Joe insisted and carried me over the snow bank. I turned my back, staring off at the lake for a while. Matt, Joe’s best man, caught my attention and I turned around to realize that it was happening! The start to our forever.
