The Force brought us together, and today, we invite you to witness our union.

We found Bacalar through a random YouTube video in 2021 and knew instantly it was a place we had to visit. Laura wanted this time to be special for Shawn because it was his first time in Mexico. We started in isla Cozumel for a day and traveled to Tulum for 2 days; just long enough for Shawn to find a scorpion in his shorts early one morning, and by find we mean stung twice. Afterwards we went on to Bacalar, finally we arrived. Laura was the first one awake (a rare first) and had already breathed in a sunrise on the lagoon on our cabanas dock. Sounds of birds, still waters, and frogs filled the air. We found a local sailboat captain via google and he gave us an in depth tour of the lagoon including a close up view of stromatolites, living rocks!! The fresh blue water of the lagoon in the warm sun is impossible to take for granted. The slow, small town feel is the most noticeable in the most relaxing way difference from the small city that is Cancun or even Tulum. Coffee at a sidewalk cafe isn’t drowned out with the smells of exhaust fumes. People take it a little slower here. Day by day, from the amazing foods to beautiful views to morning kayak rides after coffee on the dock, the location absolutely grew on us. When talking about the location for the wedding, we kept coming back to Bacalar. We asked ourselves what’s the harm in looking. The obvious answer to that is you find a perfect venue at a great price. An even better answer, I think, is that we get to share the clean air, beautiful water, fresh breeze on your face, and our special day graced by your presence. Hopefully, this could be not only a special event but also a location you always remember as one of your favorite destinations to relax and just be in paradise. We look forward to welcoming you all there. Encontramos a Bacalar a través de un vídeo aleatorio de YouTube en 2021 y supimos al instante que era un lugar que teníamos que visitar. Laura quería que esta vez fuera especial para Shawn porque era su primera vez en México. Comenzamos en la isla Cozumel por un día y viajamos a Tulum durante 2 días; el tiempo suficiente para que Shawn encontrara un escorpión en sus pantalones cortos temprano una mañana, y por hallazgo nos reeríamos a picar dos veces. Después fuimos a Bacalar, finalmente llegamos. Laura fue la primera en despertarse (una primicia rara) y ya había respirado un amanecer en la laguna en el muelle de nuestras cabañas. Sonidos de pájaros, aguas tranquilas y ranas llenaban el aire. ¡Encontramos un capitán de velero local a través de Google y nos dio un recorrido en profundidad por la laguna que incluía una vista de cerca de las estromatolitas, las rocas vivas! La agua azul fresca de la laguna bajo el cálido sol es imposible de dar por sentada. La sensación de pueblo lento y pequeño es la más notable de la manera más relajante, a diferencia de la pequeña ciudad que es Cancún o incluso Tulum. El café en un café de la acera no se ahoga con los olores de los gases de escape. La gente lo toma un poco más despacio aquí. Día a día, desde la comida increíble hasta las hermosas vistas y los paseos en kayak por la mañana después del café en el muelle, la ubicación creció absolutamente en nosotros. Cuando hablamos sobre el lugar de la boda, seguimos volviendo a Bacalar. Nos preguntamos cuál es el daño al mirar. La respuesta obvia a eso es que encuentras un lugar perfecto a un gran precio. Una respuesta aún mejor, creo, es que podemos compartir el aire limpio, el agua hermosa, la brisa fresca en tu cara y nuestro día especial agraciado por tu presencia. Con suerte, este podría ser no solo un evento especial, sino también un lugar que siempre recuerdas como uno de tus destinos favoritos para relajarte y estar en el paraíso.
