I love this quaint little local cafe in the downtown area for breakfast or lunch. If it's nice out, I love to sit on the outdoor patio and soak in some Vitamin D from the sun. Dog friendly on the patio.
This is our favorite ice cream stop, and it's a local staple! You can't miss the giant pink ice cream cone on the Belt Highway! Shawn loves their strawberry shakes, and I always get a twister with cake batter and chocolate chips! Also, for you Disney fans, they have Dole Whip!
Shawn and I love the Tequila Wrappers here! Ask for Molly or Courtney, if you sit at the bar! Tell them we sent you!
If you are in the mood for some dark and twisty, be sure to visit this museum. It was a psychiatric hospital before it was a museum, and they performed lobotomies here up until the 1960s.
The outlaw Jesse James lived here; he was also shot here, although this is not where he died.
A high school friend owns this fun and quaint little women's boutique in downtown St. Joseph. You will be sure to find something unique and beautiful here.
This fun, local stationery store has extraordinary cards for every occasion. They also have unique gifts for everyone.
In the mood for some Cajun? Come downtown to this local staple. Be sure to get some alligator!
I love walking my dogs on these trails. There are two concrete trails, and one gravel trail. Entrance to the trails is on 36th Street, between Faraon and Messanie Streets on the west side of the street.
If you are in the mood to work out and your hotel does not have a gym, the YMCA is a good bet! There is also a really nice, newer playground behind the YMCA building that is open to the public.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town, and it's also a local favorite! Be sure to get the chips and beefy cheese dip for an appetizer! I love their tostadas too.
This is my favorite park in St. Joseph. There are lots of ducks and fish to feed at the pond. Take some bread! There is also a really pretty gazebo area and a playground at the top.
