Let's start from the beginning — we met at a bar. Classic, right? Colton was working behind the bar at Schnitzels, and I just happened to be out with friends. He ended up serving our table, and from the second we started talking, I could tell there was something different about him. Apparently, he had some weird gut feeling that I was going to be important. (He told me this later. At the time, he was just trying to act cool.) The next day, he called me and asked me out. No games, no waiting three days, just straight to the point. From that moment on, we were basically inseparable. We spent hours talking about everything and nothing, laughing until we cried, oversharing way too soon… and somehow, it just made sense. By week three, Colton already knew he was in love (but waited to tell me so I wouldn’t run for the hills). Six months into dating, he teamed up with my family to plan a surprise proposal during our vacation to Virginia Beach on August 9th, 2023. The plan was to do it at sunset… but I was running late (shocking, I know), so by the time we finally made it to the beach, it was already dark. That didn't stop Colton — he still got down on one knee, right there in the sand, while my family tried their best to act casual. I had no clue it was coming, and of course, I said yes. Since then, we’ve been building a life full of love, laughter, and snacks. We adopted the sweetest (and sassiest) little rescue dog, Laney, who has completely taken over our hearts, our couch, and our sleep schedule. Now we’re getting ready to celebrate the next big chapter of our story on October 17th, 2025, in Halifax. We honestly can’t wait to share that day with all the people we love most. There will be good food, questionable dance moves, and yes… Colton will probably cry. Again.
