We met the way a lot of modern love stories start, by swiping right during COVID in our early years at Chico State. Somehow, even through a screen, it felt different right away. We both knew pretty early on that there was something special here. Our first date only confirmed it. A hike through Upper Bidwell Park turned into hours of easy conversation, laughter, and the quiet realization that this connection was real. Not long after, in March 2021, Tyler officially asked Sarah to be his girlfriend, but if we are being honest, we both already knew. Since then, we have built a life that is a mix of going out and doing the most, and enjoying the mundane, quiet moments together. We love trying new restaurants around the city, getting outside into nature, and spending lazy Sundays watching our favorite sitcoms. Whether it is Tyler convincing Sarah to go on a run or Sarah getting Tyler to join a Pilates workout, we are always finding ways to show up for each other. Some of our favorite memories have come from being on the road. Whether it is driving all over California or making the trip to Idaho, you can usually find us singing, playing the alphabet game, and pointing out every dog we pass along the way. On January 19, 2025, just one day before our four-year anniversary, Tyler planned a day full of our favorite things in San Francisco: pancakes, puzzles in an escape room, exploring Golden Gate Park, and ending at Ocean Beach. On top of the sand dunes overlooking the water, Tyler asked Sarah to marry him, and she said yes. Now we live together in San Francisco, soaking up city life, staying active, and enjoying this season of being engaged. We are so excited for what is ahead and even more excited to celebrate it with the people we love.
