Two years ago, during a picturesque Malibu beach sunset alongside two of our lifelong friends to bear witness, we eloped. At the time, we built an elaborate scheme to keep this a beautiful secret to surprise our loved ones with… the plan was simple - we would gather our friends and family for a “wedding” and surprise! you would all soon learn that you were at a beautifully manufactured vow renewal ceremony instead. Well… turns out we could not keep that secret for very long. Because even then, while our elopement was spontaneous and romantic and filled with love, we felt the missing presence of our people. While the secret is out, as we began planning our traditional ceremony in Malaysia, we realized this would be the perfect opportunity to gather all of the people we missed that day for an intimate celebration of love. This celebration is about more than sharing our story — it’s about honoring the friends and family who have been with us through life’s biggest milestones. We are so excited to welcome you to Penang, Malaysia, for our vow renewal – where we will bridge traditions, celebrate the joining of two families, and make lifelong memories with the most important people in our life. While you will need to bear with us as we work through the details to make sure this special trip is everything we want it to be and more for the people we hold most dear (basically we are saying we apologize in advance for being insanely chaotic planners - but are you shocked?
