How we met

Our history as acquaintances is almost three times as long as our love story. We've actually known each other since middle school growing up in the town of Cupertino. Through the teenage years and following, we always “knew of each other” but never developed any kind of friendship other than an occasional dance at the winter ball. Fast forward to 2014 when our love story began. We reacquainted at our dear friend Amber's birthday party in San Francisco. A night that started innocently with a couple home made cocktails and small talk between us, turned into one of the most memorable nights. We danced, we laughed, we even cheered for couples to "KISS!" on the streets as we drove by on the Fisherman Warfs Duck Tour. That night sparked an incredible bond between us that was founded on playfulness.

The Proposal

On September 30, 2018, we made a one day trip to Big Sur to celebrate three and a half years together at the beautiful Ventana hotel. Little to Shauna's knowledge, Yashar had planned this proposal for the last 3 weeks with Ventana's help on the gameplan. We made reservations at the Sur House restaurant on the property and upon checking in the concierge "suggested" we take photos at this scenic viewpoint before dinner. So on our way to dinner we stopped at this viewpoint where a path leads to a cobblestone cul de sac surrounded by beautiful flowers and a giant oak tree overlooking an incredible view of the Big Sur coast. In good boyfriend fashion, Yashar was taking instagram photos of Shauna with her back looking towards the coastline. Shauna then turned around to Yashar on one knee asking if she'd marry him. After saying "oh my god" at least twenty times, she said YES! Our dear friends Janet and Josh, were hiding in the bushes to capture the moments in both photos and videos. And to make sure our family was 'there', Yashar was mic'd up and a hidden GoPro mounted to the oak tree was live streaming the entire proposal for our families to witness.

Destination Cabo

We decided on a destination wedding to create an intimate wedding experience with the people we love and because of our love for travel. In the last five years we've experienced so much traveling to many beautiful places around the world. This constant itch for adventure all started in Cabo, the first place we traveled to together. As Cabo will always hold a special place in our hearts, we hope this experience creates lasting memories for all our guests.
