Maid of Honor
We met at recess when I was in 6th grade and she was in 5th. She was playing tether ball, and seeing her small frame, I thought it would be an easy win. She schooled me which was humiliating because I had been training on public school blacktops for years. We started off as enemies before we became bestfriends and volleyball teammates in high school. Abbie is an extraordinarily thoughtful and caring friend. I have no idea what I would do without her.
Bridesmaid
Joanna transferred to my high school freshman year. Naturally, I called her "horse girl" behind her back because she lived in Brownsville and liked horses. I am glad she never found out because I wanted to be best friends with her the moment she did a self deprecating impression of herself during volleyball practice. I won her over and we have been bestfriends ever since! Joanna is extremely creative and fun. She has always been there for me when I need a nonjudgmental listening ear.
Best Man
I met my brother Erik on the streets of Riverside. I spent more time at Erik's house than my own. Erik is one of the nicest guys I know. He would drop everything to help a friend or even a stranger. It sucks we live so far apart, but I feel very lucky I got to grew up with him
Groomsman
I met Brian through my friend Krissy, who is like a sister to me. Even though Brian could do much better, he stuck with Krissy and the three of us became close friends. Brian is an extremely intelligent, honest, and loyal friend.
Officiant/Groomsmen
We both met Rick at work. Thien immediately made the cut into his friend group, but it took Shauna several years and failed attempts to become his friend. Although he pretends he is not, Rick is extremely kind, generous, and very funny (like his wife Haley). We feel extremely lucky and thankful to have them as our friends and honored to have Rick officiate our wedding.
