We would not be the people we are had it not been for our parents. This date honors both sets of parents. Shatonda’s parents, Robin and Jesse Jones, married on December 1st and Tony’s parents, Noemi and Danilo Sapad, married on December 30th. Our wedding will take place on the date exactly in between our parents wedding anniversaries.
The wedding ceremony is at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1001 E. 52nd St, Kansas City, MO 64110. The wedding reception is at El Torreon, 3101 Gillham Plaza, Kansas City, MO 64109.
Semi-formal/ Sunday Best We ask that you wear semi-formal attire such as a cocktail-length dress or dressy separates for women and a suit and tie for men.

Yes! This will give Shatonda, Tony, their families, and the wedding party a chance to take pictures after the ceremony. This will also give guests time to transition to the El Torreon, the reception venue. El Torreon will open at 5:30pm. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. The reception will start at 6pm. Dinner will be served around 6:30pm.
No, we will not be reserving a block of rooms. There are several hotels and short term rentals (AirBnB) near the reception venue (see Travel section on website). We recommend the Westin Crown Center, which is where we are staying. Please note, hotels tend to fill up quickly in December due to the holidays. We encourage our out of town guests to book early.
We will put the updated forecast here on the FAQ page one week out from the wedding. Here is our source for weather updates: https://www.kmbc.com/weather#
COVID, Influenza, and other viruses will always be around and prevalent during the winter months. We ask you to stay home and rest if you are feeling under the weather. If you happen to have a very mild cough, sneeze, or sniffles please wear a mask. Hand sanitizer and limited face masks will be provided at our venues.
We will be honoring our heritages during the ceremony and reception, which includes food :-). You can expect to find a selection Filipino and soul food served buffet style. There will be gluten sensitive (note not gluten free) and vegetarian options available. Guests with dietary restrictions should indicate this on their RSVP.
Yes!!!! Complimentary drinks, hard and soft will be provided.
We’ve got you covered! You will find a description of the Mass and all of the parts that make up this beautiful tradition in the ceremony program. This program will include the traditions, gestures, phrases, etc. that you will see and hear throughout the Mass. However, if you want a sneak peak at what to expect, check out this link: https://www.yeahweddings.com/catholic-wedding-traditions/ .
We want our guests to be fully present with us on our big day. We kindly request that all phones, cameras, etc. be turned off/silenced and put away during the wedding ceremony/ wedding Mass. Please do not take photos, post, or stream the wedding ceremony. We will have a professional photographer/videographer at the ceremony and we will make sure to share the photos/videos on our website as soon as they are available. You will have plenty of time for photos at the reception!! Thank you for understanding.
We ask that you not post pictures on social media since we would like to be the first to post our pics after our big day. You are welcome to take selfies and pictures of your guests in your party and post as much as you like! We ask, however, that you do not post pictures of guests not in your party without their permission.
There will be a hashtag available during the reception.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, we have created a registry on our website. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
All updates will be posted on our website. Urgent updates (like weather) will be posted here and sent via email and/or text.
Our dear friend Mary Cary has graciously volunteered to be our contact person. We also have a coordinator who can respond to vendor as well as guest questions. Contact information coming soon.
Tony chose the introduction song and Shatonda chose the first dance song.
Why yes! Yes you will! We will announce closer to the date at what time the music will change to more party and danceable music, which may also mean more mature music.
Major thank you to all our vendors! We have gotten to work with some incredible people! We update our vendor list closer to the wedding date.
Well, you are in luck! Shatonda will be posting a few links here and there! Enjoy! https://youtube.com/shorts/Or7B8-8BO0Y?feature=share
Warp speed is measured in warp factors. Warp factor 1 is the speed of light, 299,792,458 meters per second in a vacuum. The factor scale is based on a geometric progression where speed in multiples of c, the speed of light is equal to the cube of the given warp factor and also taking into account power required to transition from one warp plateau to another. Warp 1 is 1c Warp 2 is approx. 10c Warp 6 is approx. 392c Warp 9 is approx. 1516c Speed is approximate due to being dependent on interstellar conditions: gas density, electromagnetic fields, fluctuations of the subspace domain.
