Things To Do

Being this is the place we met and attended part of our medical school journey, we have plenty of recommendations for things to do on the island you may not find staying on the resort. ENJOY!!! *Please note things in the Bahamas do not have exact addresses like we find in the US. With this in mind, everything has a link. Please reach out to Ryan or Sharrie for further direction.*
Fish Fry at Smith Point located on Taino Beach (only on Wednesday nights)

Fish Fry at Smith Point located on Taino Beach (only on Wednesday nights)

Smith Point's, Freeport, Bahamas

We went here on our first date, needless to say it is our favorite place to go and dance the night away! Starts at 5:30pm-2am, we recommend getting the fish fried!

Pier One Sushi & Bar- Shark feedings every night @7PM, 8PM, 9PM

Pier One Sushi & Bar- Shark feedings every night @7PM, 8PM, 9PM

G69F+5W, Wild Goose Town, Freeport, Bahamas
, +1 242-352-6674

The Sushi is amazing here! If you go early enough you can watch the sunset and see all the cruise boats heading out. The sharks are always swimming near by- make sure you call and request outdoor seating to see them while you eat!!

DeGregory's Fine Foods

DeGregory's Fine Foods

#21 Seahorse Road (in Lucaya Shopping Center), Freeport, Bahamas
, +1(242)810-5434

THE BEST COFFEE AND BAKERY EVER. Hands down, it is a must go! The sweetest owners on the whole island. (It is located in the Lucaya Shopping Center).

Port Lucaya Marketplace

Port Lucaya Marketplace

Sea Horse Road, Freeport, Bahamas

This is an ideal location if you want a little bit of shopping, good Bahamian food, sweat treats, or a nice drink (coffee or booze)! We recommend going to Bootleg Chocolates, Island Yogurt, RumRunners, Zorbaz (amazing Gyros), and/or Agave.

West End Ecology Tours- Stingrays

West End Ecology Tours- Stingrays

5 Bayshore Road, West End, Bahamas
, 1 (242)727-1156

We both highly recommend the stingray tour Keith puts on. If you are looking for a good "off resort" option, this is money well spent. The more people you bring on his boat, the better deal it is! Swimming with stingrays should be a MUST when you are visiting Freeport!

Paradise Cove Beach

Paradise Cove Beach

Queen's Highway, Deadmans Reef, Bahamas
, (242) 602-5180

This is a great option for a relaxing day, you can snorkel or kayak with sea turtles (who wouldn't want to do this while in the Bahamas?!). They also offer a bar for food and drinks while visiting, a gift shop is available to leave with a memorable gift. This was a great place for us to visit after our medical school exams!

Toni Macaroni's Conch Experience

Toni Macaroni's Conch Experience

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas
, +1(242)533-6766

For a real Bahamian experience by the local Toni himself, go get yourself some conch! You can purchase some hot sauce to bring home with you as well. Sometimes he is even hosting a conch cracking experience for visitors to experience! His hours are unpredictable.

Banana Bay Beach & Restaurant

Banana Bay Beach & Restaurant

Fortune Bay Drive, Freeport, Bahamas

This is the best beach for clear waters. It a short walk on the beach from the Viva resort. There is a restaurant as well to get some food and drinks, or you can choose to just relax on a nice beach! This is a great place to destress.
