Two and half years ago I started working for Walmart as a door host. Cody started a month later than me as a cashier. At the time, I was dating a stockman there. A very poor choice. The guy was extremely possessive and thought Cody was interested in me. At this point, Cody had shown no interest at all that way. Just a crazy guy telling funny stories -pretending to be Australian and making us all laugh at lunch. After awhile I dumped the bad one. About a month later, I gave Cody a ride home. My youngest daughter told me in the car after we dropped him off that I should marry him. I laughed. We were just friends. But a little while later he asked me out on a picnic with the kids at Manito park. It kind of just fell into place from there. He came over to my house, and we talked awhile, I think that was the same night he showed me his senior project - and I got to see how much pain he'd been through in his life. I too had been through a lot in relationships. We just connected. So in my room that night, he started dancing with me... and singing along to a few songs. The one that really stuck with me was You and Me by Lifehouse . He asked me out after dancing with me to that song, so it's always kind of been our song. When I hear it I instantly think of him. Aug 20, 2020 marked 2 yrs for us dating. Through thick and thin, good and bad, a lot of triggers and tears as well as laughs... and a hilarious proposal. I can't wait to spend my life and grow old with Cody.
