Question

Where are Shari and Colin registered?

Answer

We aren’t. We have been amazingly blessed and aren’t in need of anything. Your presence and well wishes are enough.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

During the RSVP process, you will be able to add the name of your guest. If you’d like to bring additional guests, please call us to discuss, as we do have capacity limits for the museum.

Question

Will there be refreshments?

Answer

We will have some delicious appetizers (including vegan options) available. Chef Shanon Arnold is the caterer- you won’t leave disappointed ! The Candy Bar will be providing adult beverages, as well as tea and lemonade. We want to be sure everyone stays hydrated during the celebration.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Keep it classy; keep it comfortable, but please, no jeans or shorts. Ladies, make sure you keep a pair of comfortable shoes handy for dancing!

Question

Unmmm… will there be security?

Answer

Yes! But this is still South Memphis, so let’s not do silly stuff.

Question

It’s Labor Day weekend, what else is there to do in Memphis?

Answer

Update: Labor Day Weekend in Memphis will also be host to the Beale Street Cigar Festival and the Delta Fair. The city will be busy!! There’s always Beale St for music and food (that’s what Memphis is famous for!) The National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel is a treasure- open on Friday& Saturday. The Sugashack on Beale and Lafayette’s Music Room in Overton Square have both good food and good music, depending on your taste. The travel page has other suggestions, including restaurants as well.
