Zarraf and I met the first day of college through my best friend, Tasfia who, as fate would have it, was working at the same place as Zarraf. That very first day of college, being the amazing best friend that I am, I was bringing Tasfia coffee when Zarraf just happened to be passing by us. As luck would have it, I caught Zarraf's attention and from that moment on, Zarraf often met us for lunch and gave us campus tours we didn't actually need. It didn't take us long to become best friends, and fall in love...and the rest is sweet history. (Thanks Tasfia)

We had scheduled a photoshoot with one of his friends on a Saturday afternoon at the Central Park Conservatory, thinking it would be a fun date idea (and we honestly needed more pictures of us!). We were already running super late when Zarraf stopped while entering the Conservatory and said, "Oh look! Isn't that the hill where we had our 6 month date?" I wasn't sure if it was or not since it was so long ago, but it looked so familiar! I reminded him that were very late and can come back to the hill after our shoot, but he kept pushing forward towards the hill, talking about how far we've come since our 6 month anniversary so many years ago. We had met when we were just two broke college kids, with no idea where our paths would take us. The two of us spent all these years growing up together, from getting our first professional jobs, moving out, introducing each other to our families, and thinking about marriage! Seeing him so emotional of course made me tear up...why was he making my mascara run right before a photoshoot!? That's when he kneeled down on one knee and said it's because he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Of course, I said yes! This is my soulmate, who has accepted my annoying, stubborn self just the way I am. I can't imagine going through this thing called life with any other person.
