We met a few months after I'd started working for Farmers Insurance at our first district meeting. Dan introduced himself with a firm handshake. I thought he was cute. He was all business. Over the next year we only had a few professional interactions at meetings. That changed when we got to spend a day together visiting my agents on the peninsula. The long car ride gave us a chance to talk and for me to realize that I was REALLY into him. How was this guy saying so many of the "right" things when I'm so hard to please? I had to know more. He seemed too good to be true. Each day since then has been better than the one before, which is why I'm locking that down! ***************** My Turn. I noticed her in the meeting right away. Very pretty. Very smart too. What I really noticed though was what we all notice when we first me her, she is genuine. Unabashed, confident and genuine. She made quite and impression and I thought...well it was a while before we saw each other again anyway. When we did, it was work again. Driving on the Peninsula, visiting the town we now live in and meeting the people we now call our friends and colleagues. Not knowing that all this would be, what I did know was the moment was that our relationship moved beyond work. After that long drive and getting to know each other in the car, we now faced each other on the ferry back to Edmonds. As we continued to talk, I really saw her and well... I remember saying to her after only a few dates, "I wasn't expecting you". She hit me that hard. She is all the right things at all the right times.
