Charleston, SC is a great place to visit. Between the historical side and water side, it's a beautiful city! The harbor is right next door to the aquarium in Liberty Square! Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie were victorious over the Royal Navy in 1776 and the largest patriot defeat in 1780 during the American Revolution. This is for the history buffs! The fort itself is free, but a third party charter boat takes you to the location. Tours last approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Tickets are: $23 for adults, $21 for Senior/Military, $15 for kids (4-11), and Free for kids under three. The boat leaves at 9:30, 12:00, and 2:30pm and requires the ability to walk up and down stairs.

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was founded in 1676 by the Drayton Family. It opened its doors to the public in 1870 and has thousands of flowers and plants in its gardens which is open from November to February 0830-1630. Standard admission includes the historic gardens (allow 45 minutes), a petting zoo, the conservatory, orientation theater, peacock cafe and horses, and the gilliard garden center. They also have a nature train, nature boat, and other add ons to admission. The train has the highest reviews! The site also sometimes has coupons! Tickets are: Adults $20 Kids (6-12) $10 Kids under 5 are free

North Market Street

North Market Street, Charleston, SC 29401

This marketplace has shops, vendors, and restaurants. The parking can be a little expensive and hard to find, so an uber/lyft might be your best bet in Historic Charleston. You can also get a walking tour, a bus tour, or a carriage tour throughout historic Charleston that often takes you to this market. Make sure to note the Lowcountry hand woven sweetgrass baskets by Gullah Artists passed down from the slave trade.

James Island County Park

This park has a huge trail system, outdoor high ropes course, wall climbing, challenge course, a water park for swimming and splash area, and a lake/stream for fishing. A very family friendly place with an off leash dog park as well.

Charleston Water Taxi

This water taxi shares the wharf with the aquarium. If you are staying in Mount Pleasant, this might be a mode of easy transportation. Fares are $12 all day pass, or $8 one way. The last taxi leaves at 7:30pm. Check it out!
