We had to giggle at this one. In this area, the top wedding venues consist of beach, barn/plantation, or a golf course wedding. We wanted something a little different. But most of all, we wanted something that our guests (aka the people we love) to remember, enjoy, and experience as an add on to our wedding day!
Of course! We love our little ones, and purposely chose our venue to cater to everyone's fun! There are actually kid targeted areas already in the aquarium to learn and explore!
Thank you for being so generous! https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/ Shannon and Rhett's Registry
Please RSVP using this website by November 1! We have an RSVP tab! Type in your name and it'll show up to RSPV for yourself, and your party. Plus ones are noted on your personal invitation if allowed. We really appreciate your understanding.
The dress code for our wedding with be business casual/cocktail attire. Men can wear slacks/button down, and women can wear a cocktail dress. We already know you look good, but we want the pictures to, too! Ladies, make sure those heels are comfy, so you can walk around and see the animals!
Average temperatures around this time of the year are 67/53 *f. It can get windy on the harbor, so whatever you feel you need to stay warm, and keep your hats from taking a swim! The entire ceremony and reception will take place inside, but there is a small walk from the parking garage to the aquarium itself.
Our colors will be coral and white, with all the blues of the aquarium! Its important to note that the aquarium is a conservatory of marine life, so nothing that "used" to be in the ocean is allowed. This means no decor like starfish or shells! We will have to leave that for the exhibits!
The venue includes the entire indoor exhibits of the aquarium! In order to set up, the doors will be open at 6:30pm. The ceremony will start at 6:45pm in the Great Ocean Tank Room. Remember that parking will be in the garage, and there is a short walk to the entrance. We would suggest giving yourself 15 minutes for parking and walking. If you have mobility needs, we would give even more cushion time.
Of course! Under two conditions. One, for our big moments, like our big kiss/first dance, we ask you not to have your phones out. It could ruin amazing professional photographer's shots of those moments, but of dancing, your party, of us, etc, sure! Two, please use the hashtag #BecomingButler so we can keep track of all your pictures!
There is a parking garage at 24 Calhoun that is across the concourse from the Aquarium. Be sure to pick up a voucher while attending the wedding so there will be no cost to you!!
