Travel

There are many hotels within a short cab, Uber or subway ride away to the Yorkville neighborhood of the Upper East Side, which is where our dinner and party will take place. Green Kitchen and Caledonia are half a block away from one another, and we are excited to share some of our favorite neighborhood spots with our friends and family. We understand that New York City hotels can get costly, and we greatly appreciate everyone who is able to join us for our wedding celebration. Below is just a small selection of hotels nearby; please let us know if you need more guidance or recommendations on travel.

Air Travel

NYC has several airports, but it will be easiest to travel to the Upper East Side from either LaGuardia or JFK. We recommend arriving on Thursday if possible to avoid any potential travel mishaps the day of the wedding. From JFK or LGA, it will be easiest to take a yellow cab to your hotel (the rideshare lines often require shuttles to get to, however, they are also fairly accessible if you prefer that to a yellow cab). The Yorkville neighborhood of the UES is a 15-25 minute drive from LGA and a 30-60 minute drive from JFK. If you prefer to take public transit to the Upper East Side: from JFK: follow the signs for the Air Train and buy a Metrocard at one of the kiosks. Take the the Air Train to the Jamaica station, then exit and transfer to the MTA/NYC subway World Trade Center-bound E train. Take the E train to Lexington Avenue/53rd St., then transfer to an uptown, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 train. Exit the 6 at 86th St and then walk 2 blocks east to Second Avenue. Turn right down Second Ave.; Green Kitchen is on the corner of 84th and 2nd. From LGA: Follow the signs for the MTA bus. You can tap your credit card to take the M60-SBS to 125th and 2nd Avenue. Transfer to the M15-SBS going downtown (South Ferry-bound). Exit the bus at 87th St and Second Avenue, then walk 3 blocks down Second Avenue. Green Kitchen will be on the right side of the street.

Train

Public Transit

For those local to the tri-state area, public transit may be easiest. The closest MTA stop to Green Kitchen is the 86th St 4-5-6 station or the 86th St Q station. From Grand Central Terminal: take the uptown 4-5-6 to 86th St, then walk 2 blocks east from Lexington Avenue to Second Avenue. Turn right down Second Avenue; Green Kitchen is on 84th and 2nd. From Penn Station: take a Jamaica Center-bound E train to Lexington Avenue/53rd St. Transfer to an uptown, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 train, then exit at 86th St and walk 2 blocks east from Lexington Avenue to Second Avenue. Turn right down Second Ave, and Green Kitchen is 2 blocks down on 84th and 2nd. From Jamaica Station: exit and transfer to the MTA/NYC subway World Trade Center-bound E train. Take the E train to Lexington Avenue/53rd St, then transfer to an uptown, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 train. Exit at 86th St, walk two blocks east from Lexington Avenue to Second Avenue, turn right, and Green Kitchen is 2 blocks down on 84th and 2nd.
