We are aware that the temperature will be pretty cold for Saturday! Our ceremony will be outside, regardless of temperature, unless it is raining. We will have blankets, handwarmers, and hot Apple Cider available for the ceremony. Don't worry! Cocktail hour and the reception will be inside.

Although Shannon and Matthew grew up only 12 miles from each other, they didn't meet until the beginning of 2023. Thankfully, mutual friends thought Shannon and Matthew would be a great match and introduced them. A few months later, Matthew asked Shannon to be his girlfriend and the rest is history.

Matthew had convinced Shannon they were going down to the Wedel Bay house for a fun weekend at a boat docking event with family. Little did Shannon know, Matthew had planned a whole different kind of day. Early on June 8th, 2024, Matthew asked Shannon to accompany him down to the dock to look at the nettles. He then popped down on one knee and proposed, all while having a photographer hidden in the trees! Following the amazing proposal, Matthew had surprised Shannon with an engagement party at Barrel Oaks Winery where all their closest friends and family were waiting for them and then the party was able to continue afterwards at a cabin house in the Shenandoah for all their friends.
