"Fully Vaccinated" Event

Luckily, with COVID cases going down and vaccination rates improving, we will be moving forward with our wedding as planned on Sunday, September 5, 2021. In order to ensure the safety of all our guests and vendors and to comply with Washington state laws on weddings, we will be having a "fully vaccinated" event. A fully vaccinated event allows us to have greater capacity and less restrictions for our celebration. In order to attend, all guests will need to be able to provide proof of vaccination. The governor's guidelines specify Adults with a health condition that prevents them from being vaccinated can provide proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event. When you submit your RSVP for the wedding, please answer the question specific to vaccination status. Thank you!

How it all began

We became good friends over the course of a year of working together. Jordy left that company but, given we lived just a few blocks away from each other, we inevitably ran into each other at the grocery store. Jordy chose that moment to realize he should ask Shannon out. Shannon, thinking it was just "two friends meeting for happy hour" agreed. We caught up and, toward the end of the evening, Shannon decided it was time for a late-night snack. This is where our stories diverge. Shannon: I love a good hot dog so, as we were wrapping up the evening, I spotted a vendor and knew it was go-time. I stood in line with Jordy and friends, and everyone was very keen on the endeavor. Then Jordy, being a polite person, offered to walk me home after. When we arrived at my apartment, Jordy expressed his interest in taking me on a date. I was admittedly caught off guard but said yes. He then asked if he could give me a goodnight kiss and I replied that my breath wasn't great due to the hot dog, and requested a rain check. He texted me the next day following up about the date and the rest is history! Jordy: I had no idea Shannon snuck away for food. By the time she returned from her SOLO bratwurst adventure, it was pretty late, so we decided we should head home. She indicated that she didn't want to walk back by herself late at night, and we lived a few blocks apart, so I happily walked her home. When we arrived at her porch, I was feeling pretty good. We had just had a great evening, and I thought she was anticipating me asking her out...so I did just that! Shan was clearly not on the same page but did quickly say "yes" (phew). Still riding an adrenaline high from asking her out, I (very boldly, in hindsight) asked Shannon if I could give her a late night smooch before heading home. Her response: A vehement "no" head shake, a finger point to the mouth, and two simple words... "HOT DOG". Fast forward 5ish years and I've never been so happy. A house and a dog later, here we are!
