How We Met

July 4, 2015

It was Fourth of July in 2015, and both Shannon and Jordan were planning to make the most of it! Shannon had plans to spend the day on her friend’s rooftop with a few of her girlfriends from PT school. Jordan had plans with his guy friends to bar hop around Wrigley. While Shannon spent her day excited about watching fireworks, Jordan was personally more excited about fireball shots with the boys! After the fireworks had ended, Shannon’s girlfriends decided that it would be fun to meet up with their neighbors. All of the girls hopped in an Uber to Wrigley, and headed to Moe’s Cantina where Jordan was partying with his guy friends. It turns out Jordan was the neighbor, and the majority of Shannon’s PT class had met him at this time! Shannon and Jordan spent the night chatting, dancing, and drinking. Jordan didn’t have the guts to ask for Shannon’s number, so he did the next best thing in 2015: Facebook messaged her the next day, They chatted back and forth for a few days, and went on their first date to get sushi later that month. The rest is history!

The Proposal

February 29, 2020

Shannon woke up Saturday morning excited to spend the day with Jordan. They had plans to grab brunch in the city and then look at engagement rings at a jewelry store in Lemont. On the drive to Lemont, Shannon made a comment that there is no way Jordan will be able to surprise her when he decides to propose. Little did Shannon know, Jordan already had a plan in mind AND a ring in his pocket. He was just throwing her off with the trip to jewelry store! Shannon and Jordan sat in awful traffic for an hour and a half before making it to the jewelry store. They looked at gorgeous rings just long enough for Shannon to confirm that her perfect ring was exactly what Jordan already had in his pocket, and then began their trek back to the city. Shannon was the first to enter the apartment, which she was shocked to find covered in electronic candles and rose petals. Before getting on one knee to propose, Jordan couldn’t help himself but to say: “You thought you wouldn’t be surprised, but this is happening now.” Just a few minutes later there was a buzz at the door, and Shannon’s parents excitedly entered the apartment to congratulate their daughter and future son-in-law. Then another buzz occurred, and Shannon’s maid of honor, Adrienne, had flown in from DC to celebrate! They went out to dinner at one of Shannon and Jordan’s favorite Italian spots in the city. Shannon was on cloud nine, and did not think the night could not get any better. To Shannon’s surprise, the candles and rose petals had disappeared when they returned to the apartment. Instead, it was filled with their friends and decorated for an engagement party! It was truly a day that they will never forget!
