Come Celebrate with Us!

The year was 2008 when we met at the Puget Sound Skills Center. We went to different high schools so this was likely the only way we would ever cross paths. Setup by a mutual friend, we saw the 2008 Keanu Reeves flop The Day the Earth Stood Still, tried to have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe (which is now a Din Tai Fung!) but left without ordering because we were broke high school kids, and then got snowed in together. We had plenty of time to get to know each other and we were pretty much inseparable after that. The road has had its bumps but its also been full of fun, adventure and learning. New traditions like wrestling and comic-cons have developed and two TVs grace our living room for co-op gaming. Best of all is our shared love of cats!

On the night of December 14th, 2018 – our ten-year anniversary – our favorite local indie wrestling company held a show at Washington Hall in Seattle. We had dinner at the Din Tai Fung that used to be the Rainforest Cafe and headed north for the show. Defy Wrestling is always a blast and we enjoyed the first half immensely, and then came intermission. Their host, who is also one of Shannon’s favorite radio DJs, told the crowd there would be a special contest held during intermission where two “random” seat numbers would be drawn and called into the ring. Naturally, it was our seats that were called. We were told to stand back-to-back and get ready for the “challenge”. Upon turning around, there he was, ring in hand, nervously asking Shannon to marry him with that big cheesy grin. She said yes and the room erupted into Daniel Bryan “YES” chants and everyone was happy. And so here we are, ready to celebrate our love and lives together with our family and friends come April 30th, 2020.
