To keep everyone as safe as possible during this time, we've decided to move forward with a very small ceremony on August 8 of this year and then celebrate with everyone at a formal reception on August 7, 2021, when hopefully we can all gather safely. Our August 8 ceremony will be streamed online, and we invite you to celebrate with us virtually! The ceremony will be shared through a Zoom session that will start at 6 p.m. If you would like to join us online, please contact Sarah Falls at sefalls624(at)gmail.com before August 8. She will be able to assist you with joining online or by phone. We hope by August 7, 2021, it will be safe for all of us to gather together and celebrate for a reception!

Having attended neighboring high schools and having several friends and acquaintances in common, Shannon and Duane are surprised that they didn't meet sooner. They finally did meet at the VMFA where Duane gave Shannon a tour of his favorite modern art exhibits. Impressed with his knowledge of art and surprised by his interest in French film, Shannon decided it might be nice to see Duane again, and then again, and again.... On July 25 after nearly a year of dating, Duane proposed to Shannon at her home where he'd arranged roses and a ring on the dining room table while she was out. Unbeknownst to Duane, setting up a proposal on the dining room table was very much the same way Shannon's father had proposed to her mother.
