FAQs

A quick guide with everything you may want to know ahead of the celebration.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Black Tie Optional. Guests are encouraged to dress in formal attire—think floor-length gowns, elegant cocktail dresses, or formal suits and tuxedos. Charleston in November is typically mild, and portions of the celebration may take place outdoors, so we recommend choosing something comfortable for both indoor and outdoor festivities. We look forward to a beautifully dressed evening celebrating together!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are welcome to arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. We recommend arriving a bit early to enjoy the beautiful grounds and be seated before the processional begins.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! Transportation will be provided between the recommended hotels and the venue to ensure everyone can enjoy the evening safely. Additional details and schedules will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking will be available at the venue, though it is limited. However, we highly encourage guests to take advantage of the provided transportation if possible.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved room blocks at several nearby hotels for our guests’ convenience (coming soon!) Booking information and links can be found in the Travel section of our website. Charleston also has many wonderful Airbnb and VRBO options if you prefer a rental home or are traveling with a group. The downtown historic district, Mount Pleasant, and West Ashley are all great areas to stay and offer easy access to the venue and the city’s restaurants, shops, and waterfront views. We recommend booking accommodations early, as Charleston can be a popular destination, especially in the fall.

Question

Do you have a registry? Where?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift. However, if you wish to honor us with a gift, please see the link Registry link on our website.

Question

Is Lowndes Grove handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes, the first floor of the home and the tented space are all handicap accessible.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, our wedding weekend events will be adult-only. We hope this allows everyone a relaxing evening to celebrate with us.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely. We want all of our guests to be able to enjoy the celebration comfortably. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please note it on your RSVP card. If it is a severe food allergy, please feel free to reach out to us directly.
