FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

WHITE beach casual/semi-formal attire for the welcome party on Thursday. On Saturday, the dress code is Beach Formal. For women, this typically means elegant, flowy dresses, jumpsuits, or stylish separates in breathable fabrics like linen, chiffon, or lace. For men, it translates to a suit (linen, seersucker, or cotton in lighter colors) or dress pants with a dress shirt, blazer, and dress shoes. Historically, the weather in Mexico ranges from 70-80 degrees in February. You will not be on sand for any of the events.

Answer

Question

How do I book a room?

Answer

You MUST book through destinationweddings.com. Please see "travel" tab for step-by-step instructions (also included on Destination Weddings.com). Wedding passcode is 02/21/2026. If there is a room you see on AVA Cancun's website that is not listed in the Destination Wedding's inventory, please put this in the comment section. Our wedding planner, Lars, will then submit your request. There is a 3-night minimum.

Question

What does the cost of the room include?

Answer

The cost of the room includes the "all-inclusive" perks for each occupant of the room, which includes lodging, dining, drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic), tips/gratuities, and transportation to/from the airport and AVA. Many of the restaurants at AVA do require reservations. We will provide dinner/drinks for the welcome party on Thursday, and all festivities Saturday (obviously).

Question

What are the transportation options to and from the airport?

Answer

Your room booking includes free transportation to and from the airport via a private 6-8 person shuttle service. Transportation details including pick up time & exact location at the Cancun airport will be confirmed closer to the date. Of course, you are welcome to schedule your own transportation service if you prefer.

Question

Do I have to stay at the resort?

Answer

To make a long answer short, yes. Any guest that does not stay at AVA will pay upwards of a $200/day charge to attend each event each day. They will also not have access to the all inclusive perks.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We love your children, but we politely request an adult-only wedding. However, if this prevents you from being able to attend and celebrate with us, or creates significant difficulty for you, please let us know and we will gladly accommodate your kiddos. AVA is a kid friendly resort with plenty of activities. We will need to know ahead of time if you plan on bringing your children, so please let us know.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Absolutely. If there is not a +1 or guest name included on your invitation and you have a guest you would like to bring, please let us know! We want to be as flexible and accommodating as possible to welcome your +1s, and show you our appreciation for traveling for us.

Question

Do I have to book through Destination Weddings?

Answer

Yes. If you book through AVA's website or any alternative travel agent or website, you will be charged for each event you attend. You also will not have transportation to / from the airport included.
