Shannon and Aidan met junior year of undergrad at Virginia Tech. They had both worked at the same dining hall but didn't know each other very well as they worked in separate areas. Their first real conversation was a brief meeting when Shannon needed to be carried across the street to the bus stop because of some uncomfortable shoes. It wasn't until the next school year that they would meet again and really start their relationship. Shannon and Aidan bumped into each other in downtown Blacksburg on Aidan's birthday and spent the night talking and enjoying the Blacksburg nightlife. The next few weeks were filled with small dates. Aidan offered to bring Shannon to see the movie IT even though he hates horror movies but went because he wanted to spend time with Shannon. On nights that Shannon would work as a lot guard before Virginia Tech football games Aidan would bring her food and sit with her during her shift and just talk. After only two months Shannon was set to graduate and move six hours away. They talked about where they wanted their relationship to go and decided to test their luck at a long distance relationship. Aidan thought this meant they were officially together and changed his status on Facebook to "In a relationship". This surprised Shannon because she didn't know that they decided to officially be together but she was perfectly happy about it. They then spent two years in a long distance relationship as she went to graduate school in Virginia Beach, VA and Aidan worked in Charlotte, NC. He proposed on October 4, 2019 in a Pumpkin Patch while they looked for pumpkins to carve. After two years long distance they now live in Charlotte together where they both work and are loving every second of being together.
