UPDATE for 2021

Back on track for June 25th!!!

We are back on track for June 25th, 2021! However, because our venue is a State facility they are very limited by how many people they can have that are unvaccinated. We are limited with how many guests we are having and are going to have to ask the vaccination status of our guests. Everyone will need to provide this information prior so we can give it to the Lodge ahead of time and they will check IDs and proof of vaccination upon arrival to the event. PLEASE bring these items with you so all numbers are correct. We know this is a lot and we want everyone to have a good time. Please also remember to bring your masks.

How We Met

12/21/2015

We met at a bar a few years ago. Just a casual meeting. Flash forward to 2015, we went at a party at Tiffany's where we started chatting. We decided to hang out with a group the next day at a local bar, where the conversation got really intense...Tamagotchi's. We continued to text and chat since Aaron lived up in the city and Shannon lived down in Bourbonnais. A few weeks later, we decided to start dating. Shannon had moved up to the city a few months later but then moved out to Seattle for work for 6 months. After Shannon moved back, we moved in together and adopted our beloved husky, Kana.

The proposal

Til' death grip do us part

Aaron is gripping the wheel as we are driving the winding roads of Iceland. Like not just normal grip...DEATH grip. I ask him if he's ok and he snaps back at me "Yeah i am just tired!" Ok cool fun day ahead of us. We get to the planned north side entrance of Dettifoss which is closed and Aaron is so angry. Meanwhile, I can't figure out why he's so anxious and just tell him to turn the car around and we will go on the other side of the waterfall to the south side. We finally get there and I am taking pictures when in the matter of about 10 seconds Aaron states to me, "I know you never said by running water or by a bunch of people, but i love you and will you marry me?" I said yes and he just exhaled a sigh of relief. Poor guy had been stressing all day. He then was so excited he almost drove us into the side of a mountain.
